Meet Maz

Gray Arabian Gelding

Maz is the sweetheart of the ranch — the horse everyone falls in love with. Sensitive and eager to please, he responds to quiet cues and helps boost confidence for anyone learning to work with horses. His signature move? Rubbing his head on your shoulder for a big horsey cuddle.

Though he’s full of charm, Maz needs a little extra care to stay healthy. Maz has melanoma, a type of skin cancer that is common in gray horses. He has a couple spots that don't seem to be growing thanks to daily medication. In early 2025 Maz had a lameness evaluation, received hock injections, and began anti-inflammatory/joint supporting medications. His weight has fluctuated and sometimes he requires extra feed. Maz had a serious colic scare September 2025, cause unknown. At that visit he was tested and came back positive for stomach ulcers. Maz is currently on Outlast and has his feed soaked in aloe vera.

His supplements help keep him comfortable and thriving, allowing his sweet personality to shine through every day.
