Meet Sancho
25+ year old Bay Gelding
Sancho may be the smallest horse at the ranch, but he’s also the herd’s wise and respected leader. His scars and arthritic joints tell the story of a tough past, yet he carries himself with a quiet confidence. Sancho is gentle with beginners and wonderful with kids. He's gifted at teaching the value of establishing connection and respect when working with horses.
Despite being our oldest resident, Sancho is surprisingly low maintenance. He spends his days as a steady calm presence for the herd. He still occasionally puts the other horses in their place and runs free with the herd on a cool morning, proving that age is just a number when it comes to spirit and heart.
